Thale Waek (Separated Sea) Krabi, a wonderful tourist attraction
Thale Waek was deep-going into the middle of the deep sea of Andaman in one of the moments that we took a boat to see exotic beautiful islands, who would believe that in another hour the sea that we’ve been through for a while would reduce the water level as if the sea has separated until it becomes a white sandy beach connecting the three islands miraculously. Thale Waek (Separated Sea) is a group of 3 islands with sandy beaches connecting with each other between Koh Tub(Tub Island), Koh Mor(Mor Island), and Koh Kai(Chicken Island). You can walk across from Koh Kai to Koh Tub at low tide. If so, it should be in the lowest tide of the day, especially about 5 days before and after the full moon day.
In the past, tourists were able to rent a boat to fish and pitch a tent to count the stars on the waning nights or watched the moonlight on the full moon night and were able to stay overnight on the island, but at the present time, the tourists are not allowed to stay overnight on the island. Thale Waek (Separated Sea) is considered a highlight for Krabi’s marine attractions. Coming to Krabi sea at any time must visit Thale Waek (Separated Sea) for once.
Tub Island is a small island, there is a specific sandy beach on the south side. When the water lowers, the sand on the south side will connect with the sandbank of Koh Poda Nok and become a natural bridge about 200 meters long, even a small sandy beach but the sand is very fine and white, the water is clear.
Koh Mor is a rock with no beach to go up on the island, the seawater is clear and clean. Koh Mor is far 70 meters from Koh Tub. If the water is low, there will be a sandbank connecting with each other, you can walk from one island to another.
Koh Poda Nok or Chicken Island or Koh Dam Khwan(Axe Handle Island), a strangely shaped island which became the origin of various island names due to the overhanging cliff on the south causing people to see various imaginations. Some people saw the island similar to the head of a chicken, some people saw the handle of an axe situated over there. But foreigners see it as a Popeye, the famous cartoon character sleeping with a happy pipe. You can snorkel at the shallow-water coral reefs or hard corals at this Chicken Island but the abundance of the corals may not be comparable to other attractions that are far from the mainland. The impression that you will find will be a long white sandy beach along with the clear seawater including a large group of friendly tigerfish with excellent relationships which are always waiting to welcome and always ready to play with the visitors.
