What To Expect
This is the tour program that will bring all participants to the true nature and the island within the Phang Nga Bay. The interesting place is the Tapu island (JAMES BOND ISLAND) and Panyee island. The Tapu island or “James Bond Island” is the giant standing rock sitting in the middle of the sea at the area of the front bay near to the Pingkan mountain. Looking from the far, this rock looks like a giant nail, nailing deep into the seawater. This Tapu island is a very famous tourist spot in Phang Nga. Its beauty brought Hollywood to film their James Bond movie. The Man with the Golden Gun episode here. That is why it got the nickname of “James Bond Island”, where draws in several tours. Another tourist spot here is the Panyee island or floating village.
This island has many houses laying in the sea where has a small land area is used for building the mosque and graveyards. The islanders are mostly Muslim and build their villages here. The frontal area is the Limestone cliff above the sea. The villagers are fishermen who also sell souvenirs and open many restaurants on this island. This is one of the most famous tourist spots in the world that many tourists come to visit. In addition to Tapu island and Panyee island, there are many interesting spots for tourists in Phang Nga Bay such as Maju mountain, grotto, Panag island, Hong island, and Pingkan island. However, the cruise along the Tapu island has been enforcing some restrictions from the official government. They prohibit the tourists to look too closely at the island because the sunk part of this island is very old where eroded for ages. This eroding rock may cause accidents at any point in time.

Beautiful view despite rain
The boat ride was stable although there was rain on and off. Luckily, we brought raincoats. They do sell raincoats at the wharf. The view was nice. We were lucky that the weather was good when we reached James Bond Island. About the canoe ride in Talu Island, we eventually took the canoe ride as they have someone to row for us. Views are nice too.
Great day out
We booked the tour with the speedboat but the boat was not working so went by long tailboat instead and it worked out great. The pier is a long way from Ao Nang, about 1.5 hours by mini bus but you see some great scenery on the way and on the way back stop at the monkey temple with its reclining Buddha and then some waterfalls, the waterfalls weren't as spectacular as you would hope and are really a filler to break the journey.nThe trip out to u0022James Bondu0022 island is very scenic and it you have booked the optional kayaking you stop along the way to be paddled around an island looking into caves and you can see quite a lot of wildlife. The local who took us was very informative. u0022James Bond island is small but scenic but has lots of souvenir stalls which detract from it a bit. On the way back you stop at the stilted village for lunch which was quite good, you have time to have a walk through the village.nThe locals were saying that it was very quiet as there were no Chinese visitors but it all seemed very busy to us so one can only imagine that when the Chinese are mobile then it is really crowded.
Spectacular scenery
Prompt pick up , big day out . I really enjoyed the long tail boat trip out to the first island . The canoeing option is a must, although the canoe guide was constantly on about giving him a tip. Spectacular scenery through the cave in the middle of the island . James Bond island is a must see , sometimes hard to get a picture without lots of tourists in it . Great setting for lunch but donu2019t expect much from the smorgasbord... monkeys at the temple provided entertainment. Had a swim in the waterfall pools to finish off the day before the 1 1/2 hour shuttle back to Krabi town . The staff were friendly and overall had a memorable experience.
