Had a fantastic time! I spent a week in Krabi, and this was my favorite activity by far. Loved how professional and accommodating our tour guide, Mud, was. He was so kind, funny, and helpful. My partner and I were hesitant to book at first because we felt like it would be more enjoyable and safer to go with others, but once we set sail, we were immediately glad that we opted for this option instead. It was very intimate and spacious. Seeing other tour boats full of people seemed uncomfortable, especially for those that want to take lots of pictures.

Out tour guide was Mud, since the begging he was the best, unfortunately his English is not at the very high level BUT he was sharing his knowledge and showing us the hidden locationsu2026 for us he did 6 islands because we asked for a bit more of snorkeling. The only part is that we did not know how much time we needed to spend in each island/lagoon/beach so We miscalculated a bit a couple of times but Mud made it work and exceed our expectations. I have specially requested wine glasses because I wanted to take wine and chips for a special stop and our guide helped us so much, it was a success. Plus we got fruit included Thank you very much. In general a private tour like this you need to do!!!!! I would do it once again! ;)
Multiple beaches to yourself
This was an incredible day were we visited Hong Island (specifically Ao Pi Le beach), the Hong Island lagoon, Phak Bia Island, and snorkeled. We arrived at Ao Pi Le beach early (9am ish) and basically had the beach to ourselves (there were maybe 10 other people there). It was a magical experience to have such a beautiful beach to basically yourself. After about two hours we boarded the boat and went to the Hong Lagoon which was beautiful. Our guide and driver went out of their way to try an show us an extra island where many monkey's live, but unfortunately the monkey's were sleep. It was so sweet that they tried to make the experience that much more special though! We then went to Phak Bia Island which we had to ourselves for 10 minutes before a couple of other boats showed up. Once again it was a moment I will never forget. And finally we ended the day snorkeling which was a decent experience. Our guide provided us with water right away and a snack of pineapple halfway through the trip. It was really nice to have the entire longboat to ourselves. We sat at the front of the boat in awe our surroundings most of the day.nnMake sure you have whatsapp downloaded because that is how I communicated with the tour operators to organize pickup. Pickup was an extra 500 baht or you have to find your way to a specific pier for pickup. We had a little issue with pickup and locating the boat at our hotel, but luckily we found it about two hotels down which only delayed us about 15-20 minutes. Also it should be noted that you have to pay about 200 baht to get on Ao Pi Le beach so make sure you have some cash on you. The tour guides are not fluent in English, however they knew enough to explain the names of the islands and where we were going next, as well as how much time we had at each location.
Beautiful scenery, poor experience
The scenery was as beautiful as ever however we were very disappointed the tour was not as described. We booked it for 8.30 with an 8am pick up from our hotel but had an email late the night before saying we would be picked up at 8.30 however it was 10-15 mins after this that we were collected before being taken to the pier and left after 9. In our confirmation of the tour it said there would be someone able to speak English but this was definitely not the case. We even tried using a translating app as well as converting English text to Thai but he still didnu2019t understand. He asked us how long we wanted to stay at Hong Island (our first stop) and we were trying to say we donu2019t know because we donu2019t know how long the other things will take and asked him to guide us in when we should come back to the boat but this was impossible. Also the description was for Hong Island, kayaking on the lagoon, Pakbia and Lading Islands. The driver kept repeating at the start of the day u20183 islands - Hong, lagoon and Ladingu2019 we kept saying that is 2 islands because the lagoon is in Hong and asked about Pakbia but he didnu2019t understand. We were looking forward to snorkelling at Hong but we had to ask the driver after we got off the boat if we could have a mask and snorkel and we also had to ask for the advertised water that was also meant to be included (werenu2019t offered any more either). The equipment was very poor and my partners mask broke about 5 mins after putting it on, ending our snorkelling experience which was very disappointing. I love journeys on longtail boats and have done many however this was unsafe with many floor boards either missing or loose. After Hong he drove into the lagoon and sat there for ages, I have no idea why, and no opportunity to kayak was offered as was in the description. We then were taken to the very crowded Lading where there is hardly any space to be in the water without being in very close proximity to others who also think their conversations are more important than anything else because they are so loud. Even though Lading is pretty, Pakbia would have been a far more enjoyable experience. We got engaged this day and there was nowhere we could even sit as a couple as both seats ran down each side of the boat and if we sat on one side the boat would have been unbalanced. We got back about 2pm because rain was coming so paid a lot of money and not a full day. For the price we paid we could have gone to the pier ourselves and organised a long tail boat with a driver who spoke a little English at least for about half the price. This was a total rip off and on top of that when booking on Viator there was no mention of currency so we (stupidly) assumed it was in AU dollars however it wasnu2019t until we had booked and paid that the currency was shown as US therefore costing us nearly 40% more than we had expected. Do yourself a favour and go to Nopparat Pier and organise it yourself for the following day. There are many drivers waiting outside the office who are more than willing to help and at least you will have a better understanding of where your money is going. Sorry for the negative rant but would rather warn others what they might be getting. Go and see these magnificent places but book it differently to what I did.
Our best day in Krabi
Really wonderful day out. It was so lovely to experience a long-tail boat just the two of us as it felt much more intimate and peaceful. Our guide was really friendly and the driver did a super job. We thoroughly enjoyed the fruit provided too - really fresh. It was great to do the tour at our own pace. Definitely recommend. Thank you
