What To Expect
Thalane Bay or Ao Thalane is one of the most popular locations for kayaking. It is a beautiful and splendid area with abundant mangrove forests, limestone mountains, caves, lagoons, and canyons. You will enjoy kayaking and paddle easily in the tortuous route, a calm river without windy and wave, sometimes you can see sandbar when the level of tidal is low. You can also get learning about ecosystems in abundant mangrove forests.
If you paddle into that area and pass through the towering limestone mountain and quite canyon that is the most beautiful view point of Thalane Bay. All the route is surrounded by intricate limestone mountains, it seems to be provided rooms by the sea that’s called ” Lagoon “, the shelter or hidden place for fishermen when was the monsoon season because the limestone mountain ranges protected the storm and the wave from outside.

Definitely go at high tide and shop around
I would give kayaking a 5 star review. Definitely do it! Itu2019s so amazing. Not sure about True Leisure.. We started with a misunderstanding when they said theyu2019d pick me up at u201cthe beach at Klong muangu201d. So I went to the beach and waited at the entrance. The Beach at Klong Muang is a hotel. Who the heck would know that if they werenu2019t staying there? They never called me when I wasnu2019t at the pickup. Instead they contacted the woman who manages my my apartment who had nothing to do with booking this trip and had no idea where I was. I was three minutes away from where they were waiting for me and one call to me would have set it right. By the time I contacted them they had left and were very curt about it. Some of this I chalked up to language differences. nnThe part that was annoying was that after I paid the inflated TripAdvisor prices and missed the pickup they didnu2019t care one way or the other. They had no intention of refunding any money or taking any responsibility or trying to fix it. The woman who ran my apartment was really annoyed because of how much Iu2019d paid and pushed them to take me that afternoon. The issue is that you donu2019t do this trip at low tide. Itu2019s not nearly as good. Iu2019d venture t9 say itu2019s not worth it at all. The current was up and once we fought across the windy bay we couldnu2019t really get that far into the part you actually want to see in the canyons. We only went a very short way in.nnSo go in the morning or whenever high tide is. Call around directly to,the operators and get the best price. I should have booked via my apartment. And on top of paying a premium v8a Trip advisor, TL hit me for another 200 baht for transport from Klong Muang by a driver who was so annoyed to have to pick me up at that point he didnu2019t even say hello to me when I got in the van. So the whole thing was just awkward and uncomfortable and a chore at that point. True Leisure did not differentiate themselves when they had the chance but theyu2019re probably OK if everything goes smoothly and they have the best price.
Surreal
Was an amazing experience in Krabi. We paddled for about 2 hours, which was enough personally as it was a bit demanding physically than I thought. Before we hopped on a kayak, the guide explained well enough how to paddle, the route that weu2019re going to browse, and basic safety features. The route was a bit tricky for a less experienced one like me but was so much fun. Pickup and dropoff so as some coffee and snacks are all included in your trip and there was no hidden fee. I highly recommend if youu2019re looking for some fun activities in Krabi.
Very good experience
We selected the option kayaking in the second half of the day. The pick up was prompt 1.40 pm from Ao Nang. We were taken to Ao Thalane by 2.30 pm. After initial guidance for 15 minutes, we started kayaking which went on for 3 hours. The caves, mangroves, canons and lagoon, it is all really beautiful. We were little concerned as we are not good swimmers, however this can even be done by non-swimmers. One can take an expert along by paying additional 300 Baht. However, it can be physically little demanding, especially for the lower back. Hence, people with back problems should not opt for this activity. We finished the activity by 5.15 pm. Overall, highly recommended.
Great customer service by tour operator
I booked this trip at the last minute - just two days in advance. I was aware that it was a half day trip, but when I realized the actual timing and the limitations of ferry timings to and from our hotel (which is the only way we could get to the hotel unfortunately!) I realized that we would miss our flight if we did the Kayaking trip. So I reached out to the tour operator directly and asked if they could refund our money even though it was less that 24 hours before. They were VERY helpful and said that they would do it, and they would inform Trip Advisor to honor that refund. Iu2019m delighted to say that the refund came within a day. This exemplary customer responsiveness leads me to believe that their are an excellent tour company. Iu2019m very disappointed that we could not make it this time - but itu2019s #1 on my list for our next Krabi trip.

Afternoon Kayaking
Our guide was very friendly & informative. He spoke very good english. Pick up at hotel was on time. nKayaks were great and it was something to do with little excursion. We were all disappointed as we only saw 1 bird, a few crabs and 2 monkeys from afar. Thought weu2019d see much more wildlife. It was uneventful. A Refreshing Experience!!
We did Kayaking for the first time. There are 2 options, 1 you rent a Kayak and go by yourself (if you have previous experience) @700 baht. Other option is to go by Group which is little cheaper @300 baht per person. If you do not know Or need someone to Sail for you they can give you a driver at 300 Baht.nnIt is usually 2 hours of kayaking. Where they halt 2-3 time on small land for rest and photo.
Nature and Canyon views for fair price
The trip is really great for kayaking beginners. Also we recommend going at high tide so you can actually go in a circle. nWe loved the view of the canyon from the inside and it was a true jungle experience. nThe team offers waterproof bags which is really nice. If you are advanced at kayaking or have kayaked to Railay already donu2019t book this tour because some people we met were disappointed. We loved it because it was a good mixture of nature and activity for a good price.

La nature, foru00eats de mangrove, reliefs calcaire etc.nLa sortie kayak par rapport au temps de trajet aller retour hotel est un peu limite.nNous n'avons pas appru00e9ciu00e9 de payer un supplu00e9ment pour le transport...alors que cela est normalement gratuit pour Klong Muang.

Cela est dommage car il doit y avoir tant u00e0 dire sur la biodiversitu00e9 environnante assez exceptionnelle et sur la cave visitu00e9e. Plus que de la mauvaise volontu00e9, je pense sincu00e8rement que c'est la barriu00e8re de la langue anglaise qui pose souci car guide u00e9tait bien gentil. Nous avons mu00eame eu droit u00e0 une assiette de fruits frais au retour.nCependant, nous avons passu00e9 une bonne apru00e8s-midi.

Una experiencia sorprendente fuera de las visitas habituales a las islas. Totalmente recomendable. Nosotros la hicu00edmos por la mau00f1ana con la bajamar, mejores vistas. Los guu00edas preocupados por nosotros. Entregan una bolsa waterproof para pequeu00f1os objetos (mu00f3vil, pasaporte...)

Ju2019avais demandu00e9 au pru00e9alable si un retour avant 13h30 u00e9tait possible et on mu2019a confirmu00e9 que oui. Je suis arrivu00e9e u00e0 mon hu00f4tel vers 14h alors que ju2019avais une autre visite de pru00e9vu dans la foulu00e9e. Hormis cela, je nu2019ai rien u00e0 redire si ce nu2019est foncez!!

totalmente recomendable, paisaje precioso y kayak fu00e1cil 2 horas aguas tranquilas, si vais por la tarde es mu00e1s probable que la marea estu00e9 alta y podru00e9is hacer todo el itinerario, recordad llevar ropa para cambiaros al finalizar. La recogida, la asistencia y la atenciu00f3n de la empresa perfecta. Un 10!

Wir hatten eine tolle Tour bei erstklassigem Wetter. Die Natur ist atemberaubend und der Guide hat das Erlebnis perfekt gemacht - sehr lustig hu00f6flich, hat viel erklu00e4rt und die Gruppe gut unterhalten. Die Organisation war ebenfalls super und die Tour ist auch fu00fcr Anfu00e4nger und unsportliche wie mich geeignet. Einzig 0,5 Liter Wasser pro Person sind etwas wenig, deshalb vielleicht selbst noch was mitnehmen. Trotzdem eine absolute Empfehlung!
