What To Expect
Hong Islands Tour. Take you to visit the most beautiful beach and paradise island, Krabi Thailand. The tour will take you to the main island in the Hong Islands group. For sightseeing and snorkeling in the clear water such as Lading Island, Pakbia Island, Hong Lagoon, Dry off on the white sand beach and bathing in the warmth of the sun. Enjoy a delicious lunch on a tropical beach.
Hong Island is one of the most beautiful islands of the Andaman sea, its name comes from the Thai word ” Hong ” which translated as ” room “. Hong Island is part of Than Book Khorani National Park, a beautiful island and white sand beach. The beach is separated into two parts by huge rocks. The more beautiful part of it that is located between the rocks and big limestone cliffs.
Here you can find a small bay where you can swim, snorkel, and relax on the white soft sand beach. In the middle of the beautiful island there lies a hidden lagoon where you can be in harmony with nature, swim, and snorkel in the Hong Lagoon, the fantastic lagoon of green and blue water surrounded by mangrove forests.
Pakbia Island is a small island that belongs to the Hong Island archipelago. It’s located between Koh Yao Noi and the Krabi coast. It is a popular destination for those searching for a quiet place to spend a relaxing time. In front of the island has a small limestone that looks like a mushroom. (You can see mushrooms on the sea when the tide is low only.)
At the north of the island, if the tide is very low, it will be sand connecting the sandbar between Pakbia and Rai Island ( a small island nearby Pakbia island ). You can walk from one island to another island when the tide is low.
Lading Island was a concession island for swallows nest located between Pakbia Island and Hong Island. Beautiful scenery with small bay surrounded by intricate limestone, soft white sand beach, and emerald color sea. You will enjoy swimming, snorkeling sunbathing, and relaxing. Because of this reason why it’s called ” Paradise Island “.

Not the best
The pick up from our hotel was 2hours late so they gave us a extra 40min on the last island but I definitely think itu2019s not worth it, it felt rushed at the islands just enough time for a quick photo and snorkel then time to go, the boat was over full everyone was squashed, lunch was average. I think pay for a private tour.
Slow (long) boat to China
Before you get to the main event you have to do some snorkeling off some island rock, not great. Then to a lagoon where the boat just circles round, then to Lao Lading island for some lunch of cold chicken and rice (no veggie option). Finally to the main event, Hong Island. Ok so firstly you'll be waiting around from 8.30am to 10am, then get on a very crowded, uncomfortable long boat with about 50 people doing 10mph all the way. Spent most of the day travelling. My advice: skip the other islands, go straight to Hong Island (well worth it!) and spend the extra u00a39 and take the speedboat option! On the plus side our tour guide was very helpful and made a excellent effort.
Not to be missed adventure!
As a first time traveller I was quite nervous to go out on a big adventure but I am SO glad I did. The tour was well organized from the moment they picked me up at my accommodations until the moment they returned me full of so many amazing memories and photos!nnThe tour guide was very attentive and fun, I felt safe and well looked after. I was the only solo person on the trip and the guide definitely stepped up to make sure I got nice pictures taken of me in the various key locations...certainly above and beyond what I expected!nnThe Longtail boat is quite the experience and though it is loud, it didn't detract from the enjoyment I had being out in all that island paradise. Lunch was simple and tasty, snacks were offered at the beginning and at the end and water was frequently offered.nnTruly I have no complaints at all. Wonderful
Pick up was perfect and on time. Easy contact by WhatsApp with the local tour provide from the day before. This Hong islands are much more interesting than the Chicken islands. So if you have to choose go for this one. Food was great tour. The tour providers helped taking pictures and more
Afternoon tour is the way to go
We had the option of taking this tour either in the morning or in the afternoon. We were advised to take the trip in the afternoon due to the large number of visitors to the islands in the morning. We were glad that we took that advice. We had the Hong Island overlook to ourselves and empty beaches at both Koh Lao Lading and Koh Pakbia. A private tour is definitely the way to go.
Good day with unfortunate rain but nothing we can do about, organisation was good and adaptability within the weather.
Picked up in our hotel, you wait after under a shed.protected from the rain with coffee and simple breakfast (toast and butter / some rice stuff in a leaves). We been placed in our long tail boat after that. The boat was nearly full but not packed, also protected by the rain (some leaking but nothing major as you will be wet if rainy anyway). I remove 1 star as we barely understand our guide as he spoke about not to the front of the boat and his English was very basic. nWe didnu2019t get access to the lagoon due to the tide and the guide made us go to 2 others spots before hong island. nOne snorkeling spot, one nice beach for lunch (not buffet, a lunch box but was yummy) to finish at hong beach for 1h30 to enjoy the walk to the summit and a smoothie on a beach.
A fantastic and memorable tour.
This was a fantastic day tour of the beautiful and very picturesque Hong Islands. The tour was very well organised and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Dave who took time and care to take some awesome photos of us that we are so happy to keep as a memory of a great day.
hong island is beautiful
Big long tail boat (choose speed boat if you have a choice and want to pay that bit extra), first few stops we werenu2019t that amazed by although we had just done phi phi tour which we were comparing to. But, once you reach Hong island it does make it more worth it as it is breathtakingly beautiful and has the fab viewpoint. If you have the time and money then I would do this. n
Nice views but overall not the best experience
Very beutiful islands, but the trip was not well organised. They pick us 15min late from hotel with overcrowded open vehicle, then we had to wait >1 hour to actualy go into a boat. Boat was also overcrowded, about 3 people did not have a place to sit. nIt was very hard to understant what guide was speaking, because of accent. Also he was not talking about places we would visit, what to do in there.
Overpriced Package
1 star for alright tour, and 1 star for the beautiful seannOverpriced, donu2019t buy it from here. You should ask from your accommodation for such trip. Itu2019s much cheaper and has the same experience(some even better). The trip was fun, we went snorkeling and went on 2 islands. But itu2019s pretty crowded, the ship was full, and the food is not very good with small portion. The tour guide is nice though. I recommend booking from your accommodation and ask for more private tours. Great trip
The trip was well organized and we enjoyed the Hong Islands tour ! A car came to pick us up from our hotel and took us to the pier. The tour guide was great and spoke good English. First we went snorkeling and then visited Lao Lading island where they provided lunch for us. Then we went through the Hong Lagoon and the last stop was at Hong Island. Only downside was that we were at Hong Island for two hours only (it was enough to see the view point and dip in for a swim after) but we could have easily spent few extra hours there to rent a kayac or swim and sunbathe longer. The tour was definitely nice but next time I would perhaps just take a boat straight to Hong Island to spend the day there.
Good but not the best
The trip itself was good. Good locations, decent food. The guides were very nice. But all the areas were packed and it felt a bit rushed. By the time we got to a location it felt like we had very short time before we had to head back to the boat. Comparing it to the other 2 trips we took from Krabi (an early bird and a sunset cruise) this kind of pales due to the rushing and overcrowding. The snorkeling equipment was not that easy to see through either. It was still a great experience and a lot of fun with beautiful sights!
