UNSAFE DONT GO

Imagine being in the darkest place in the ocean with a bunch of people who don’t speak any English they don’t have lifejackets available for you. They don’t have snorkel equipment ready for you and there’s boat smashing into each other in the dark. You can’t tell if you’re supposed to get in the water or if you’re supposed to put on a lifejacket, nobody helps you. It was probably the most unsafe thing I’ve ever done. I’m surprised. Even had any idea who was in what boat and who was going where I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost a few people at sea while we right there I would never ever recommend doing this to her ever we literally hate this place. UNSAFE

Just an okay time

Ok trip. The guide was fantastic snd tried really hard. Older boat, water soaked many of us. Not great snorkel gear bad water. Trashy beach with garbage and debris all over. They did have a storm so a little grace but overall just an okay experience compared to the many others we had.

This was run by Mariam tours and is actually the “7 islands sunset tour”

Don’t be fooled, this is the same crappy 7 islands sunset tour run by Mariam Tours and marketed under all kinds of different names. I was ill afterwards and threw up for several hours that night from the food. We only swam with the plankton for 5 mins and the rest of the 10+ hours was spent mostly waiting around. If you are mainly interested in seeing plankton I don’t recommend this tour.

Animal welfare issues

The tour itself was good and the tourguide also, but I would not book with this agency again. They had a big sign promoting elephant riding, which shows lack of insight and/or concern for animal welfare. There were also three cats at the agency, of which two were pregntant, and the staff showed no understanding when I raised the topic of spay/neutering. If animal welfare is something you care about, I would not book with this agency.

Poor boat trip

We booked this as part of a 7 island boat trip. It was very dissapointing to say the least. After a day of being hurded around like cattle with several other boat trips we saw some big rocks and some OK beaches. The last stop was to see the plankton light up at night in the sea. You saw more lights while lying on your back in the sea looking up at the stars!

Animal welfare issues

The tour itself and the tour guide were good but I would not recommend booking a tour with this agency. They had a poster to promote elephant riding, despite the known welfare issues of the elephants. There were also 3 unneutered cats at the agency location. 2 looked already pregnant. There was no interest in taking any responsibility to neuter them. I would not book a tour from this agency again until they remove elephant riding from their offering and stop promote that kind of tours. I think it is unprofessional.

Dangerous and not like advertised

Unfortunately, our trip from Krabi was a huge disappointment. Right at the very beginning at the first stop, where there was supposed to be snorkelling but we arrived at the beach, we had a problem with the first boat, whose engine had broken down. And we had to wait 2h for the next one. We were transferred to the second boat, which was too small for the number of people on the trip, plus the boat was leaking and taking on water on board, which made it heavy and the engine couldn't push it any more. It was very dangerous, and the staff who handled our trip made jokes about it, saying it was normal. To make matters worse, we were stranded about 400 metres from the beach. We were told to walk this distance on foot, which was very uncomfortable due to the rocks and reef in the water (no special shoes), we forgave the rest of the tour and returned at our own expense with different boat. The tour itinerary was also not as described on the website. Instead of visiting unique and scenic snorkelling spots, we were only in commercial locations that are available in the cheaper versions of the tours available on site (and we didn't want to go on such a tour anymore). The whole experience was very frustrating and definitely not worth the price and what is more important very risky to our safety. We visited only two snorkelling spots, the first in murky and shallow water, the second in the shade where as we saw it we didn't even go in the water. A plus for the service through booking, we were reimbursed for the cost of the trip, but unfortunately lost time we could have used on a well-organised snorkelling trip. In summary don’t buy it!

Absolutely appalling to the point of dangerous

Got picked up OK and boarded the longboat without any issue. Our not so English tour guide (he spoke about 4 words in English) then told us what we were doing. For the first island, boat then broke down and were stranded on the island til a new boat came out (45 minutes later). We then went snorkelling at (what we didn’t know) was low tide and stepped off the ladder into coral and sea urchins (no warning given). 3rd island went OK but on our approach to Palang Beach the boat got marooned on the rocks and we were told to walk 100 yards across coral as boat wouldn’t move. Boat also had a whole and was taking in water. 5 of us had to get out and push the longboat off the rocks so it could move and then had to walk over coral rocks in flip flops to the restaurant for dinner… At this point and being unable to communicate with the tour guide as he had no English we made our own way back….as we did’t trust the company who we were with. We weren’t the only one…overall a horrible experience and I’d think twice about booking a trip with these people. It’s unsafe, even by Thai standards.
