What To Expect
Koh Kai (Chicken Island) has the feature of a limestone mountain emerging from the sea, when we look at the top of the island there is a sharp rock that looks like a chicken’s head which is an origin of the name of Koh Kai (Chicken Island). The coastline of Koh Kai (Chicken Island) is rockbound. There are many beautiful coral reefs in the west of the island as well and very suitable for diving. The duration of the low tide is called “Talay Waek (Separated Sea)” that we can walk along the beach from Koh Kai (Chicken Island) to the other islands nearby such as Koh Mor (Mor Island) and Koh Tub (Tub Island).
“Koh Tub (Tub Island) and Koh Mor (Mor Island)”, these two islands are small and connected to each other, during the low tide of seawater, it makes us see white fine sandbank (or sandbar) clearly and when it drops to the lowest level we will see Talay Waek (Separated Sea) caused by the connection among three islands namely Koh Kai (Chicken Island), Koh Tub (Tub Island) and Koh Mor(Mor Island). In general, the area of Koh Tub (Tub Island) and Koh Mor (Mor Island) will be a marina of longtail boats and speedboats that take the tourists to Talay Waek (Separated Sea) Krabi.
“Pranang Cave” which is located on Railay peninsula, a very shallow and small cave situated on the seacoast at the end of the beach in the south of “Pranang Cave Bay”, inside the cave is the location of Pranang Shrine which the local people love to take Si Va Lueng (Shiva lingam) to worship, there are some stalagmites and stalactites to be seen in the hall of the cave.
The tourists who travel to this bay, not only they have a chance to pay respect, worship Pranang Shrine, but also take a relaxation on beautiful white and light brown sand beach as well and also can swim in clear blue-green seawater in front of the beach too. “Poda Island”, all three sides of the island are surrounded by the beaches, except the west side, there is a steep rocky cliff and encounters the sea wave, the beach in front of the island is a white fine sand beach with clear blue sea water and soft sand for walking. The tourists who love to visit the island in order to relax, walk along the beach and swim in the seawater.

Underwhelmed but worth going
Pick up was at least 30 mins late so I called the local contact and they didnu2019t realized I was on the list for pickup. Due to the tide situation (according to the tour guide)they had to take us to a different island for snorkeling where there were not that many fish or marine life to look at so we were all underwhelmed. Overall the tour was fine but it seemed very rushed to every island and not enough time to explore everything. BTW, the instructions said total tour was at least 7 hours, but by the time the boat left the marina it was already 10 ou2019clock and we were back to the marina at 2:30 pm so the total time was only 4 hour and 30 mins. Was it worth $25~ ? I would say yes, itu2019s a good experience.
4 island hopping!
On a beautifully sunny morning, head down to the longboat marina in Krabi, get a private longboat... You'll thank me! If you book a tour, you'll be crammed into a boat with about 20 other people and will be expected to adhere to their schedule. With a private guide, you set the pace... How long at each beach or site. nnFor us this your was by far one of the best! Visited 4 islands and spent basically from morning until 4pm Island jumping these beautiful islands. Clear crystal waters, powdered sands and no one to rush you. Only thing is you'll have to buy your own food which you can do at one of the islands. You'll snorkel where you want and swim when you want. nCheers!
Great experience and excellent tour guide
Great experience ! The local guide was nice and fun and added comments about different parts of the visit ! It's an easy way to visit the islands surrounding Krabi. The long tail boat was very traditional and better than speed boat in my opinion.
Donu2019t book online
It wasnu2019t a bad tour but not well managed. nI paid u20ac45 for the tour online with the big boat and kayaking included. nThe day before they told me kayaking isnu2019t available and that I will be on a long tail boat, they said they would cover some national park fee to compensate for it, which they didnu2019t. nI was talking to others in my group and they paid no more than u20ac25 for the same trip, honestly I felt completely ripped off, I paid almost twice as much for the same thing. It seems that they overbooked the tour and put me on some other cheaper one. nWhen I contacted the operator I was ignored and the messages coincidentally disappeared. Iu2019m not one to be fussy about these things or even write reviews but to be ripped off then Ignored isnu2019t good enough.nnThe tour itself was nice, they guys did their best to be engaging etc, but I donu2019t appreciate being ripped off.
I would recommend- great value for money
How can you not love the beauty of these magnificent islands. The guide was great and whilst there wasnu2019t loads of time on each island, it was enough to explore and enjoy. Snorkelling was great with loads or fish and the odd sea snake to swim with / avoid on a small portion of reef. Would recommend
Ok but not very busy and touristic
All in all ok. Just pretty busy, was well organized but boat with 50 people where you hop on for 50min too each location. Since there are more organized trips/boats on every Island you are than standing in a crowded beach with many tourists. Rather buy yourself a ticket to Railay (100tbh one way) and spend the day there.
Amazing experience
Amazing experience, my partner and I agree it was the best day of our 2 week trip in Thailand. The guides were knowledgeable and fun, the islands themselves were beautiful and the snorkeling spot was fantastic. Thanks for a great trip Sid and team! (apologies if spelt wrong)
Couldnu2019t communicate with driver
While Iu2019m glad I took a private boat so I could be around less crowds, I really wish the driver spoke English so I couldu2019ve asked him several things, like to take me to a better snorkeling spot since the one he chose was awful- all the coral was dead and there were only a few fish. I wanted to ask the layout and if there were any hidden or better spots to go to, and how much time I should allocate per spot based on whatever was next. nI wouldnu2019t hire this company again, next time Iu2019ll make sure I find someone I can communicate with.
Look up itu2019s worth it
It was a great experience. We had a blast driving around and spending time at the waterfall. Definitely chose the two hour experience as the first 40 minutes we were still getting used to the 4 wheel. It was only after getting comfortable with it that you truly look up and enjoy the scenery.
11/10 ticks all boxes
We are very pleased with the tour, very well organized. Lots of added bonuses such as a delicious packed lunch and fruit at the end of the trip and of course a round trip to and from the hotel. Super pleasant and helpful staff. Great value for money. Dont forget to take towels and maybe a set of clothes to change into. 11/10, highly recommend.
Very good tour
Very good tour! We were staying at the Grand Centara and the tour even dropped us off in the hotel private jetty (on the way back to the main port).nnThe lunch is pre-prepared, and consists on some rice with chicken, however, the quality of the food was good and it was well prepared.nnThe speedboat had ample space for everyone, and the team on board where very nice. nnOverall, a great tour!
Not recommended
We did not enjoy it at all! n1. When booking we chose to be taken from the hotel- there is such option. A few hours later someone called and told us this was not an option. And obviously we cannot cancel now. n2. The hour we were told to be at the departing place was way too early. We had to sit and wait for about an hour and a half for the tour to start! The waiting felt like sitting in a central-bus station. n3. When the tour started, before going on board of the boat we were required to leave our shoes in a huge plastic bag along with all other people. The shoes were given back only in the end of the trip! meaning that not only you have to be barefoot in the dirty boat, you have to be barefoot also when getting off the boat visiting the islands. Yes, including visiting the toilets if needed. n4. Clearly they wanted to exploit the boat's capacity so the boat was packed with people! which is quite unpleasant in a hot humid weather. n5. The life jackets were wet and smelled bad. n6. The schedule is not well-planned. Staying at each island is about one hour which is too much for islands that are not well-suited for swimming and rest and too little for Railey beach where you can actually rest and enjoy the swimming. nOverall, we did not like this tour and wouldn't recommend it.
Well organized and friendly tour guide
I'm impressed with their attention to their role. Always ensuring everyone safe and connected in the team. Highly recommended. First experience of Snorkeling with my family. Unfortunately, snorkeling gear not designed for spectacles people. However, we enjoyed it. Thanks for keeping us safe and feel welcomed.
